Industrial Kinetics, Inc., the leading manufacturer of conveying systems for manufacturing, steel mills, and commercial distribution, is celebrating 50 years of providing engineered conveying solutions that meet or exceed technical specifications and expectations of their customers.

Incorporated on January 20th, 1969, Industrial Kinetics, Inc was started by George Huber, Jr and his wife Marianne. “I was an entrepreneur before it was considered cool.”, remarks George, Jr. During the early years, George would spend the day selling conveying system during the day, often returning to the shop after dinner to finish assembling conveying systems.

Industrial Kinetics, Inc, first set up shop in McCook, Illinois and over the years moved as the company grew and needed additional space for their production area and expanding engineering staff. Industrial Kinetic’s current manufacturing facility, located in Downers Grove, Illinois, is not far from the first two company’s locations and close to where much of U.S. manufacturing takes place – the Midwest.

George Jr’s son, George, III started working at Industrial Kinetics in 1992 and has worked in most areas of the company including the production floor, where he began his career at IKI. In 2011, George Jr’s son, George, III took over responsibility for day to day operation of the company. Under his leadership, Industrial Kinetics has expanded its pallet handling products, expanded systems, and integration capabilities and developed niche products such as bag handling and robotic interface systems, into standard product lines.

Speaking at a recent company celebration of the company’s anniversary, George said the following regarding the basis of IKI customer’s loyalty: “Routinely we come across jobs where people want us because of work we did 20 and 30 years ago. I consider this a testimonial of the quality and reliability of our conveying equipment.”  This speaks also to the professionalism and creativity of IK’s experiences and loyal staff which a primary factor in IKI achieving success over a long period.
