Our photo this month shows the construction detail of our pulleys found in our standard belt conveyors. We’ve engineered the shaft to dramatically reduce premature wear and the resulting downtime. The highlighted area (in yellow) shows that the shaft is turned down on the end that interfaces with the bearing and the end that mates with the drive. We also weld the shaft to the pulley. These details prevent the shaft from shifting in the bearings, the pulley shifting on the shaft, and the reducer shifting on the shaft. Most of our competitors do not incorporate these design elements and they typical secure the shaft to the pulley with a keyway and set screws. It’s attention to details like this that make us the trusted choice of Fortune 500 companies as well as small manufacturers.
